Sands China Holds Amazing Summer 2019 for Team Members and Families to Enjoy

More than 400 join family-friendly activities  

(Macao, September 4, 2019) – Sands China recently held its Sands China Amazing Summer 2019, giving team members a chance to bring their family and friends to participate in a variety of fun activities in August, where they were able to enjoy memorable time together.

The initiative aimed to encourage team members to enjoy greater work-life balance, time with friends and family, and memorable experiences with their children. Over 400 people in total joined this year’s activities.

“Sands China Ltd. cares greatly for its team members, and this year we are very pleased to organise this Amazing Summer activity again with even more interaction with the community and outside Macao,” said Wen Hongyan, senior vice president of human resources for Sands China Ltd. “We hope the families of our team members take pride in the fact that they are part of the Sands China family. We are also happy to give them this chance to enjoy family activities together, which can help create closer bonds and support family unity.”

Sands China Amazing Summer 2019 comprised three events: Sands China Painter, Sands China Summer Fun, and Parisian Walker.

The Aug. 30 Sands China Painter activity saw team members invite friends and family members to Cotai Expo to create a piece of collaborative art. Participants made individual paintings which were then combined together to make one large piece of abstract art.

More than 200 people joined the activity, including Sands China team members and their families, and families from the Bosco Youth Service Network and The International School of Macao (TIS). They were able to enjoy environmentally themed game booths, a photo zone, and other activities promoting marine ecological protection awareness. The Sands Cares Ambassadors were there to lend their assistance and support.

Sands China Summer Fun included an array of fun activities where children got to learn through games, while enhancing their relationships with their parents. Child-parent workshops enhanced communication and cooperation skills using Legos, and table top games allowed children to learn to control their emotions, cooperate with others and reflect on their actions. A visit to Changlu Farmhouse provided the opportunity to interact with animals and enjoy a family day together and a parent-child yoga lesson helped create calm and focus.

For the Parisian Walker activity, team members gave their family and friends the chance to learn more about their workplace by visiting the guest and back-of-house areas of The Parisian Macao, where they enjoyed an entertainment performance and visited the hotel’s new suites and family-friendly Famille rooms, as well as places which they may not be able to access during normal times, such as the luggage room, the wardrobe operation and others.

Amazing Summer 2019 is part of Sands China’s continued commitment to its team members and their quality of life, both at work and at home.
