Sands China Holds Master Chef Culinary Exchange Series

Part of F&B talent development programme

(
Macao, November 24, 2019) – Sands China Ltd. held two culinary exchange events Friday: masterclasses for students at the Institute for Tourism Studies and the Macau University of Science and Technology, and the 2019 Sands China Master Chef Culinary Competition between three teams: the Five-Star Chef Alliance, the award-winning Macao team from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Vocational Skills Competition, and a team of Sands China chefs. Judges include representatives from the Macao Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL), the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Sands China, and the local food and beverage industry.

The events, which are part of the larger Sands China Academy – Fostering Collaboration to Incubate F&B Talent Series that took place Wednesday through Friday, attracted many local young people to attend. Through events such as Friday’s friendly competition, the company hopes to allow young people who aspire to become chefs the opportunity to learn and hone their culinary skills and techniques by watching top professional chefs in action – in order to deepen their understanding of China's rich food culture and attract more young talent to the food and beverage industry, in support of Macao’s position as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
