Sands China Hosting Free Karaoke Competition for Public at Sands Shopping Carnival

Sands China Ltd. is
inviting the general public to compete in a
free karaoke contest at the upcoming Sands
Shopping Carnival Aug. 7-9 at The
Venetian® Macao’s Cotai Expo, for
a chance to win a share of nearly MOP 80,000
in prizes.

Competition is accepting
applications from prospective contestants
starting July 13 until the application
deadline of 6 p.m. July
27.
The competition is
open to permanent and non-permanent Macao
SAR identity card holders to compete in one
of two categories: a teenage category for
ages 12-18 and an adult category for ages 19
and above. Entrants may apply as individuals
or group acts. There are no application fees
or other fees for contestants, and the
competition itself is free to attend as part
of the three-day Sands Shopping Carnival,
which is also free
admission.
Preliminary rounds
take place during the first two afternoons
of the Sands Shopping Carnival on Aug. 7 and
8. The final round and the awarding of
winners takes place on the final afternoon
of the carnival, on Aug. 9. Prizes, valued
at close to MOP 80,000 in total, include
cash, iPhone 11 Pro Max smartphones, and
annual passes to teamLab SuperNature Macao,
the 3-D interactive art experience at Cotai
Expo.

Competition is one of several
diverse activities and attractions at the
Sands Shopping Carnival, including a little
master chef workshop, an
international-cuisine food area,
performances, lucky draws, MOP 1 products,
deals up to 80 per cent off, and activities
and games for
children.
Featuring nearly 500
booths, the carnival is the largest shopping
event of its kind in Macao. It provides a
free business platform for local SMEs and
retailers amid the pandemic period, while
creating a new weekend destination for local
residents and tourists. Providing an ideal
shopping and leisure destination for
families, the carnival aims to give back to
the community by offering the best deals to
Macao residents and tourists in order to
stimulate domestic consumption and help
boost the economy – in support of the
Consume for the Economy initiative of the
Macao SAR
government.

and safety measures to prevent the
transmission of COVID-19 and safeguard
