Sands China Announces Discretionary Allowance for Team Members
(Macao,
Jan. 21, 2021) – Sands China Ltd. (HKEx: 1928)
is paying a discretionary allowance to more than 26,000
eligible full-time team members on Feb. 8, 2021,
equivalent to one month's salary and capped at MOP
45,000 – in gratitude of team members' dedication and
contributions in 2020. The discretionary allowance will
benefit 99 per cent of Sands China's total
employment.
Dr. Wilfred
Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., said: "First of
all, our special thanks go to the Macao SAR government
for their leadership in keeping the community safe from
COVID-19. Throughout this challenging period, Sands
China's commitment to Macao has remained unwavering, and
we are looking forward to the launch of our newest
themed destination – The Londoner Macao. Our company's
founder, the late Mr. Adelson, was particularly proud of
the Sands China Ltd. team and our accomplishments. He
was adamant, even during the most difficult times last
year, that the company should do all that it can to
support team members, their families, and the Macao
community at large. It gives me great pleasure therefore
to announce that, in Mr. Adelson's memory, the company
will pay a discretionary allowance in appreciation of
team members' support, hard work and personal
sacrifices."
