Sands China Team Members Win Awards in Third Edition of Vocational Skills Competition
(Macao, Apr. 15, 2021) – Sands China Ltd. has won
a number of awards in the third edition of the Macao
Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises Vocational
Skills Competition, which was held Wednesday at The
Londoner®
Macao.
This is the
first time the competition was held at The Londoner
Macao integrated resort, Sands China's iconic
British-themed landmark on the Cotai Strip. This year,
22 team members from Sands China took part. With their
outstanding performance, they won three grand awards in
Hotel Room Facilities Maintenance, namely the Special
Gold Award, Best Teamwork, and Highest Occupational
Health and Safety
Awareness.
Sands China
also won the Special Gold Award in Gaming Customer
Service, Runner-up in Gaming Calculation, Gold Award in
Room Cleaning and Themed Arrangement, Gold Award in
Western Culinary Arts, Best Appetizer, and Silver Award
in F&B
Service.
Organised by
the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) and the Macao
Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM), the third edition of
the Macao Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises
Vocational Skills Competition is supported by the
Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT), the Macau
University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) and the
Macao Polytechnic Institute. Sands China sent several
young team members to participate in the competition
this year, hoping to help them gain experience and
elevate their service
standards.
The
competition covers three key areas: gaming, hospitality,
and gastronomy, where industry professionals fully
showcased their impressive vocational
skills.

participants, but the friendly competition helps raise
service quality in the industry, contributing to Macao's

Sands China
considers talent development as an essential part of its
corporate social responsibility, and has encouraged team
members to improve their skills and services through
various talent development initiatives, such as the
All-Round Food and Beverage Management Programme, a
collaboration with the Labour Affairs Bureau. Looking
ahead, Sands China will continue adhering to the Macao
SAR government's guidelines, and drive the industry
forward through developing talent in Macao and the
Greater Bay
Area.
