(Macao, Apr. 15, 2021) – Sands China Ltd. has won a number of awards in the third edition of the Macao Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises Vocational Skills Competition, which was held Wednesday at The Londoner® Macao.

This is the first time the competition was held at The Londoner Macao integrated resort, Sands China's iconic British-themed landmark on the Cotai Strip. This year, 22 team members from Sands China took part. With their outstanding performance, they won three grand awards in Hotel Room Facilities Maintenance, namely the Special Gold Award, Best Teamwork, and Highest Occupational Health and Safety Awareness.

Sands China also won the Special Gold Award in Gaming Customer Service, Runner-up in Gaming Calculation, Gold Award in Room Cleaning and Themed Arrangement, Gold Award in Western Culinary Arts, Best Appetizer, and Silver Award in F&B Service.

Organised by the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) and the Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM), the third edition of the Macao Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises Vocational Skills Competition is supported by the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT), the Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) and the Macao Polytechnic Institute. Sands China sent several young team members to participate in the competition this year, hoping to help them gain experience and elevate their service standards.

The competition covers three key areas: gaming, hospitality, and gastronomy, where industry professionals fully showcased their impressive vocational skills.

"Sands China was very pleased to join the third edition of this competition," said Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd. "It is not only an enjoyable event for the participants, but the friendly competition helps raise service quality in the industry, contributing to Macao's continued development as a world centre of tourism and leisure. We are very proud of our team members who participated, and congratulate them on their success."

Sands China considers talent development as an essential part of its corporate social responsibility, and has encouraged team members to improve their skills and services through various talent development initiatives, such as the All-Round Food and Beverage Management Programme, a collaboration with the Labour Affairs Bureau. Looking ahead, Sands China will continue adhering to the Macao SAR government's guidelines, and drive the industry forward through developing talent in Macao and the Greater Bay Area.
