Sands China Seminar Gives Team Members and Local Youth First-Hand Account of PRC's Founding History from Macao Senior
(Macao, July 26, 2021) – Sands China team members
and local youth recently enjoyed an invaluable
opportunity to hear a first-hand account of China's
founding history at a company-hosted seminar at The
Parisian® Macao July
15.
The seminar
was delivered by Chan Yue Sam, an 87-year-old local
resident born and raised in Macao during a period of
dramatic historical events. Chan shared his personal
experience of witnessing the nation's development at
different stages – from the Second Sino-Japanese War to
the founding of the People's Republic of China to the
establishment of the Macao
SAR.
Entitled the
Sands China Distinguished Speaker Forum Series –
"Tremendous Years to Glory" Sharing Session, the
seminar was attended by Sands China's senior management
team members, interns, and students who have
participated in the company's Career Experience
Opportunities Programme. It aimed to promote the
continued development of Macao and the nation by
instilling a sense of national pride among the
participants, via the revisiting and reliving of the
founding history of the People's Republic of
China.
"Sands China
is pleased to give our team members this latest
opportunity to develop their professionalism education
and their understanding of national development through
this seminar," said Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands
China Ltd. "The elderly members of our community are a
treasure, and learning about history through their
personal accounts is a precious experience. As an
eyewitness to our shared history, Mr. Chan has witnessed
both the development of Modern China and the Macao
Handover. We hope his insights help team members draw
inspiration from the nation's history and in turn
reinforce their national identity, thus allowing them to
continue making contributions toward the ongoing
advancement of Macao and the
nation."
The Sands
China Distinguished Speaker Forum Series –
"Tremendous Years to Glory" Sharing Session is
