Sands China Adds Family Vaccine Leave and Hosts Seminar for Team Members

Encourages team members to accompany children and elderly for vaccinations

(Macao, Mar. 3, 2022) – Sands China Ltd. is offering Family Vaccine Leave and a vaccination seminar for its team members to encourage vaccinations for both young and elderly family members, thereby further helping boost Macao's overall vaccination rate and build an immunity barrier in the local community.

The new category of paid leave was created as an assistance to team members who need to accompany family members to receive COVID-19 vaccines. It is available March 7-June 1 for team members to accompany children under 18 or parents aged 65 or over for their jabs.

Sands China Ltd. President Dr. Wilfred Wong said: "Sands China remains committed to fulfilling our corporate social responsibility and supporting the government's pandemic precautions. We are pleased to offer team members this new category of paid leave to help minimise the risk of the virus spreading in the Macao community. We hope this can help further Macao's efforts to promote personal and public health and hasten pandemic recovery."

Apart from the launch of the Family Vaccine Leave, Sands China is hosting a seminar for team members entitled COVID-19 Vaccination Among Children and Elderly. Offered March 3-4 at The Venetian® Macao, the seminar is being conducted by Ms. Carolina Ung, assistant professor of the faculty of health sciences at the University of Macau, and promotes the importance of COVID-19 vaccination for those two target groups.

As a company that cares about the health of its team members and the wider community, Sands China remains committed to playing its part in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the community. The company actively encourages team members to get vaccinated, and nearly 95 per cent of team members have voluntarily answered the call and are vaccinated.

Sands China Ltd. continues to work proactively with the Health Bureau to encourage and facilitate its team members and their families to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to help Macao build an immune barrier, so that members of the public and people from all sectors of society can resume normal lives as soon as possible.
