Sands China Organises 'National Security Education Exhibition' Tour for Team Members

Part of company's professionalism education series

(Macao, Apr. 20, 2022) – Led by Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., a delegation of senior management and other team members enjoyed a tour of the 2022 National Security Education Exhibition at the Complex of Commerce and Trade Co-operation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Wednesday, as part of the company's ongoing effort to promote professionalism education.

This is the second National Security Education Exhibition tour organised by Sands China for team members and interns from various departments this year, aiming to equip team members and the younger generation with a holistic view of national security and to cultivate the spirit of "Loving the Motherland and Loving Macao", with a total of 100 participating in the tours.

Team members received a guided tour of the exhibition, which consists of 420 images and videos along with concise text – highlighting the fact that under the guidance of the holistic view of national security, the country has coordinated development and security, calmly responded to unprecedented historical changes and epidemic of the century, and promoted a series of major national security achievements in the new era. The exhibition also highlights various measures and achievements of the Macao SAR government in upholding national security and promoting the principle of "One Country, Two Systems."

Sands China organised the tours in support of the Macao SAR government's efforts to promote public awareness and education regarding national security in the community, and to enable team members to deepen their understanding of the importance of national security in the context of Macao and mainland China.

"National security and sustained implementation of 'One Country, Two Systems' are the responsibility and obligation of people from all walks of life," said Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd. "With our deep roots in Macao for nearly two decades, we understand that national security is the cornerstone of Macao's enduring social prosperity and stability. We therefore encourage team members to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the essential idea of national security, which will enable them to shoulder this civil responsibility and to contribute toward the prosperity, safety and stability of the city."

One of the team members on the tour said: "After the tour, I realised that the prosperity and stability we are now enjoying are hard-won achievements of our nation and city. When national security is threatened, there will be no security for the people. As a member of the local community, I will definitely take my civil responsibility seriously and serve to make our home safer."

Since 2018, Sands China has organised yearly team member visits to the National Security Education Exhibitions jointly hosted by the Macao SAR government and the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, in support of the Macao government's efforts to promote public awareness and education regarding national security in the community.
