Sands China Launches Happy 360 Initiative for Team Member Well-Being

Month-long series of activities promotes physical and mental health

(Macao, June 2, 2022) – Sands China Ltd. kicked off its Happy 360 well-being initiative for team members Thursday with an opening ceremony at The Venetian^® Macao's back-of-house team member area.

The month-long series of activities is part of Sands China's commitment to comprehensive care for team members' physical and mental health, promoting the attitudes of positivity and proactivity among team members.

The initiative utilises the 5S model for emotions in a series of healthy activities including seminars, forums, lectures, roadshows, and wellness and parent-child activities to encourage team members to develop a positive mindset and put effort into building a happy workplace. The 5S model comprises Self-Questioning, Stop Negative Thinking, Self-Pep Talk, Shuffle Your Thoughts, and Stay Attentive to Body Responses.

Guests of honour attending the opening ceremony were Wong Chi Hong, director of the Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Wu I Mui, division head of the Problem Gaming Prevention and Treatment Division of the Social Welfare Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Ho Sut Heng, president of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions; Ng Sio Lai, director of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao; Lau Kam Ling, chairwoman of the Women's General Association of Macau; Lee Kwok Hoo, service director of the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office; Dr. Man Ling Chiu, chief executive officer of Mega Power Medical and Rehabilitation Centre; Dr. Jose Peres de Sousa, director of Phoenix Medical; Dr. Lio Kin Kan, representative of Genesis Healthcare Ltd. and Dr. Wong.

Under the context of the ongoing pandemic, team members' mental health has caught the attention of both employers and academics. As a responsible corporation, Sands China has always paid attention to team members' physical and mental health, encouraging a healthy work-life balance and promoting family harmony. Through organizing more than 300 team member wellness and parent-child activities, as well as launching physical and mental health support programmes over the years, Sands China continues to address the emotional needs of team members.
