Applications Now Open: New Street Dance Contest Joins Karaoke King at 2022 Sands Shopping Carnival
July 21-24 at Cotai Expo

June 9, 2022) – The popular ICBC ePay
Presents: Karaoke King Singing Competition is
back for the 2022 Sands Shopping Carnival, and is
being joined by the new BNU Presents: Street Dance
Competition, giving the public another chance to
show off their talents and win valuable
prizes.
Organised by
Sands China, the competitions are free for both
contestants and audience members as part of the upcoming
four-day carnival at The Venetian® Macao's
Cotai Expo July 21-24, which is also
free-admission.
Applications
for both competitions are now open, and are being
accepted until 6 p.m. June
30.

Presents: Karaoke King Singing Competition
2022
Permanent and non-permanent Macao SAR identity card
holders can compete as individuals or teams in one of
two categories: teenage for ages 12-18 and
adult for ages 19 and above. Prizes will be
awarded for the champion, first-runner-up, and
second-runner-up.
The contest is
co-organised by the Macau Artistes Association, whose
representatives are serving as judges for the
preliminary and final rounds. Preliminary rounds for the
teenage and adult categories take place July 22 and 23,
respectively, and the final rounds for both categories
are on July 24, concluding with a prize presentation
ceremony.
BNU
Presents: Street Dance Competition 2022
A new activity for this year's carnival, the contest
aims to promote the uplifting culture of street dancing
and provide young enthusiasts with a platform to
showcase their talent. Open to children aged 7 to 12,
teams of 3-8 participants compete in a preliminary round
July 21, with the final round on July 24. The judging
panel includes representatives from corporations and six
mainstream local dance studios, and winners will be
awarded with prizes for the top three
spots.
Participants
of both contests need to either present proof of a
two-dose vaccination or a valid negative nucleic acid
test taken within the previous 48
hours.

Presents: Karaoke King Singing Competition 2022 and BNU
Presents: Street Dance Competition 2022 are two of the
many diverse activities and attractions of the 2022
Sands Shopping Carnival, which include the
BOC Smart Kids Presents: Little Master Chef
Workshop; a "Play and Fun" Kids Area and
a mega food court presented by Bank of
Communications; and daily lucky
draws.
Featuring more
than 580 booths, the carnival is the largest shopping
event of its kind in Macao. It provides a free business
platform for local SMEs and Sands retailers amid the
pandemic period, while offering a fun weekend
destination and summer hotspot for local residents and
tourists. Providing an ideal shopping and leisure
destination for families, the carnival aims to give back
to the community by offering the best deals to Macao
residents and tourists in order to stimulate domestic
consumption and help boost the economy – in support of
the Macao SAR government's Consume for the Economy
initiative and the e-consumption voucher
scheme.

carnival-goers can rest assured that Sands China is
again implementing a series of strict sanitisation and
safety measures to prevent the transmission of COVID-19
and safeguard public
health.
