Sands China Team Members Donate Blood for 17th Year
Benefits Macao Blood Transfusion Service
(Macao,
Sept. 21, 2022) – Sands China Ltd. held a blood
drive for team members this month, benefiting the Macao
Blood Transfusion Service. Team members responded
positively, with a total of around 150 donating blood at
a booth at The Londoner® Macao Sept. 5 and at
The Venetian® Macao Sept.
14-16.
It is the 17th
time that Sands China has held a blood drive for team
members, dating back to its first property,
Sands® Macao. The aim is to promote civic
responsibility and a spirit of helping
others.
"Giving blood
can be a very unifying and humbling experience in my
opinion," said one of the participating team members.
"For me, it reminds me of our humanity – that we all
have and need this life-giving blood that pumps through
our veins – and that we sometimes need to turn to each
other during our most vulnerable circumstances. And no
matter which country we are from, donating our blood can
save someone's life, wherever they happen to be from. I
find that inspiring and I'm glad our company gave us
this opportunity to give back to society and made it
convenient for us to
donate."
Rooted in
Macau for nearly 20 years, Sands China has been actively
organising opportunities for team members to participate
in different types of public welfare activities and will
continue to do so in fulfilling its corporate social
responsibility.
