Sands Shopping Carnival Winner of Brand Exhibition Award
Macao Convention and Exhibition Commendation Awards 2022

Jan. 9, 2023) – The 2022 Sands Shopping
Carnival has won the Brand Exhibition
Award in the Macao Convention and Exhibition
Commendation Awards
2022.
Now in its
seventh edition, the Macao Convention and Exhibition
Commendation Awards are organised by the Macao
Convention and Exhibition Association (MCEA) and have
been held since
2015.
The Brand
Exhibition Award recognises exhibitions that
deliver outstanding performance in terms of planning,
curation, and service quality; set an example for brand
exhibitions; and make a positive impact on the
development of the local MICE
industry.
Dr. Wilfred
Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., said: "Sands China

for the recognition of the successful Sands Shopping
Carnival, which has been offering a business platform
for retailers and local SMEs to help boost Macao's
economic revival during the pandemic. For the 2022
carnival, we were very pleased to receive our
exhibitors' gratitude for our prompt rescheduling of the
carnival to September in response to Macao's June 18
COVID outbreak. They praised the event's popularity, its
comprehensive arrangements and its supporting
facilities, which helped exhibitors increase their
revenues. We are pleased the Sands Shopping Carnival has
become the most anticipated brand exhibition for locals
and tourists. Our appreciation goes to the exhibitors
for their participation, to the event co-organiser,
supporting entities and business partners for their
support, to team members for their professionalism, and
to MCEA for organising the Macao Convention and
Exhibition Commendation Awards in support of Macao's
MICE
industry."
The Macao
Convention and Exhibition Commendation Awards
aim to build a platform for sharing, exchange and
cooperation within the MICE industry, to develop
influential MICE brand events, and to enhance
professionalism in Macao's MICE industry. It aligns with
the urban development plan of the Greater Bay Area and
the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in
Hengqin, as well as the nation's support to Macao's
integration in national development and the Macao SAR
government's Second Five-Year
Plan.
The
free-admission Sands Shopping Carnival is the
largest sale event in Macao and offers an exciting
weekend destination for local residents and tourists.
The popular event is in its third year and has attracted
over 310,000 visits since its 2020
debut.
The 2022 event
featured over 530 booths, providing a free business
platform for local SMEs and Sands retailers impacted by
the pandemic. Carnival visitors were able to browse
eight zones, all of which offered the convenience of
accepting consumption
e-vouchers.
Highlights of
the three days of shopping, activities and entertainment
included the ICBC ePay Presents: Karaoke King Singing
Competition, which featured performances in adult and
teenage categories. The annual contest has attracted
close to 380 registrants over the last three
carnivals.
The always
popular BOC Smart Kids Presents: Little Master Chef
Workshop also returned, with over 570 children and
parents joining the free food-prep and decorating
activity led by Sands China's food and beverage
team.
A new addition
to the 2022 Sands Shopping Carnival was the BNU
Presents: Street Dance Competition 2022, which gave
young dance enthusiasts a platform to showcase their
talents and win
prizes.
The Sands
Shopping Carnival supports the Macao SAR government's
Consume for the Economy initiative and consumption
e-voucher scheme, and is part of Sands China's efforts
to give back to the community, stimulate domestic
consumption, and help boost the
economy.
