Sands China Honours 2,500 Long-Serving Team Members

(Macao, Jun 20, 2023) – More than 2,500 Sands China team members are celebrating their 20-year, 15-year or 10-year company anniversaries in 2023, with Sands China honouring them recently at ceremonies at The Venetian^® Macao and The Londoner^® Macao in April and May.

Twenty-four founding team members who joined the company in 2003 or earlier are celebrating their 20th company anniversaries, more than 300 are marking their 15-year company anniversaries, and over 2,100 are celebrating their 10-year anniversaries.

They were personally recognised by Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., at the ceremonies, where he extended Sands China's gratitude for their loyalty and continuous contributions to the development of the company.

We hold our long-serving team members in high esteem, as their expertise and experience have proven invaluable to the steady growth of our company. To express the company's gratitude, Sands China presented an unforgettable experience to the long-serving team members during this important moment of their career. The location, venue decoration, and event planning for the commemorative events were carefully curated – for example, a red carpet welcome upon arrival, a uniquely designed magazine cover photo area, and a ceremony where each team member received their commemorative awards one by one. Moreover, a pickup and drop-off experience was specially arranged for the founding team members and two of their family members for the "20 Years of Achievement with You" Recognition Gala Dinner – where they received a 20th anniversary Honourable Service Award presented by Dr. Wong and Chief Operating Officer Grant Chum and enjoyed a high-table dinner with their department heads and accompanying family members, sharing their memories together.

At the founding team member celebration, they were presented with a 20th anniversary special edition music box, special edition pin designed by a team member, commemorative certificate, and gift certificate for an anniversary meal. Inside the Bluetooth music box, a Londoner black cab and a gondola revolve around Sands China's properties while the company's 20th anniversary theme song "Seven Thousand Days" plays – produced by team members and titled by Dr. Wong himself. The song is dedicated to the founding team members, with the company's gratitude expressed through heartfelt melody and lyrics that reminisce their 7,000-day journey walked along with the company.

The 15-year anniversary team members were recognised with a souvenir box, containing an anniversary certificate, special edition pin designed by a team member, commemorative tie or scarf, and gift certificate for an anniversary meal. The 10-year anniversary team members received a trophy along with a gift certificate for a special 10-year anniversary meal.

Founding team member Kenneth Chun, who is now director of projects for the development and project management department, said: "I feel that having spent 20 years at the same company is something that is particularly valuable in today's rapidly changing world. During this time, I have witnessed the growth of both myself and Sands China. The support from the company and the care from my colleagues have been a powerful driving force in my journey towards progress, expanding my capabilities and helping me to excel in my work. I feel privileged to be a part of Sands China."

Sands China has long placed people at the heart of its strategy. To date, over 14,100 team members have served the company for more than 10 years, representing more than 60 percent of all team members, and over 6,800 of them have served for more than 15 years. More than 1,500 team members have remained with the company since helping launch Sands^® Macao in 2004. The nearly 20 years between then and now have witnessed a significant growth in the percentage of local residents among Sands China's management team members, soaring from 20 percent in 2004 to 92 percent currently. In addition, female team members account for 45 percent of the entire management team.

These statistics show how Sands China, as a company rooted in Macao, has created a gender-equitable workplace and has remained firm in its commitment to nurture the development of its team members alongside the growth of the company.
