Sands China Promotes Team Member Well-being with Happy 360 Initiative

Month-long activity series promotes physical and mental health

(Macao, Aug 3, 2023) – Sands China Ltd. recently held its Happy 360 Month for team members, marking the third consecutive year of the wellness initiative.

The month-long series of activities is part of Sands China's commitment to comprehensive care for team members' physical and mental health, promoting the attitudes of positivity and proactivity among team members. From mid-May to mid-June, team members were able to take advantage of a series of wellness activities at the back-of-house team members areas at The Venetian® Macao, The Parisian Macao, The Londoner® Macao and Sands® Macao.

The initiative utilises the 5S model for emotions to conduct seminars, forums, lectures, roadshows, and wellness and parent-child activities to encourage team members to develop a positive mindset and put effort into building a happy workplace. Applying the 5S model – which comprises Self-Questioning, Stop Negative Thinking, Self-Pep Talk, Shuffle Your Thoughts, and Stay Attentive to Body Responses – can help team members learn positive methods for releasing stress, understand the importance of managing emotions, and develop useful strategies. As part of the initiative, team members wrote words of encouragement and gratitude for themselves or others at an appreciation area in the back-of-house areas.

Sands China has held the Happy 360 initiative for three consecutive years. Since 2021, the company has organised over 40 seminars and 140 activities, workshops and roadshows, drawing more than 24,000 participants – encouraging team members to build positive thinking, enrich their lives and advance family harmony.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., said: "Sands China has been cooperating with various professional organisations in Macao to conduct multiple programmes to support our team members in learning positive strategies for handling life's inevitable challenges and difficulties. We believe that efforts and activities like Happy 360 can help build a positive working environment so that employees are physically and mentally healthy and happy, leading to high work satisfaction and a positive attitude towards life."

Sands China held a closing ceremony for the initiative June 6 at The Venetian Macao, attended by guests of honour Chan Chon U, acting director of the Macao Labour Affairs Bureau; Lam Pui Seong, head of the Community Service Coordination Division of the Macao Social Welfare Bureau; Leong Meng Ian, vice president of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions; Chan Ka Leong, chief director of the General of Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao; Cristina Ho Hoi Leng, vice president of the Women's General Association of Macau; Ip Kam Po, service director of Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office; Au Ka Fai, president of Au Hon Sam Charity Association; Cheong Weng Heng, executive director of Cheng Mio Medical Limited; and Wen Hongyan, senior vice president of human resources of Sands China Ltd.
