Sands China Donates MOP 300K to Support Caritas Macau Charity Bazaar and Charity Run
20th consecutive year of company donations
(Macao, Nov 22, 2023) – Sands China Ltd. recently donated MOP 300,000 to Caritas Macau in support of two of the NGO's annual events: the 54th Charity Bazaar and the 2023 Charity Run. It is Sands China's 20th consecutive year donating to the local NGO and helping raise public awareness of its services.
2023 Charity Run
Sands China made a MOP 100,000 donation to Caritas Macau at a cheque presentation ceremony Oct. 29 at the University of Macau, in support of Caritas Macau's 2023 Charity Run. Sam Chongnin, vice president of corporate communications and community affairs for Sands China Ltd., presented the ceremonial cheque to Paul Pun Chi Meng, secretary-general of Caritas Macau.
Sands Cares Ambassadors showed their support by attending the ceremony and participating in the charity run. While raising public awareness of the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, building an inclusive local community, and enhancing family harmony, this year's event raised funds for one of Caritas Macau's new elderly care service programmes.
54th Charity Bazaar
"Cultivating Kindness Together, Sharing with Charity" was the theme of this year's bazaar, aimed at promoting the idea that when everyone works together, both the giver and receiver of good deeds enjoy the happiness that comes with it. Caritas Macau will use all funds raised from the bazaar to develop a new social service.
A total of 115 Sands Cares Ambassadors volunteered at the bazaar Nov. 4-5, where they ran a game booth to raise funds for Caritas Macau. All proceeds from the booth will be donated to Caritas Macau, without deducting costs.
Visitors to the booth won prizes that included hotel accommodation, food and beverage vouchers, and tickets to teamLab SuperNature Macao at The Venetian® Macao.
Additionally, Sean McCreery, executive vice president of operations for Sands China Ltd., presented a MOP 200,000 ceremonial cheque for Caritas Macau to Pun at the bazaar's opening ceremony on Nov. 4 at Nam Van Nautical Centre.

Sands China has made annual donations to Caritas Macau since 2004. The funds help support Caritas Macau's operational expenses and its efforts to develop and implement social services in the community.
The Sands Cares Ambassador programme was established in August 2009 to give Sands China team members an outlet for serving the local community by organising community activities and initiatives that work toward creating a better Macao. With membership of more than 3,300 volunteers from across all Sands China properties – Sands® Macao, The Venetian® Macao, The Plaza® Macao, The Parisian Macao and The Londoner® Macao – the Sands Cares Ambassadors have contributed more than 302,000 hours of voluntary community service since the programme's founding.
Sands China's support to charitable organisations like Caritas Macau and the company's Sands Cares Ambassador programme are part of Sands Cares, the global corporate citizenship programme of parent company Las Vegas Sands Corp.
