Sands China Donates MOP 1 Million to Five Local NGOs for Responsible Gaming Support

19th year of donations

(Macao, Mar 27, 2024) – Sands China Ltd. recently donated MOP 1 million to five local nongovernmental organisations to support their 2024 responsible gaming work.

Sands China has donated more than MOP 7.9 million for responsible gaming since 2006, an annual practice that is part of the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility and its support to the sustainable development of the local community.

At a March 18 ceremony at The Venetian® Macao, Andy Kobel, Sands China's senior vice president of casino operations, and Michael Lee, the company's vice president of concession administration and casino compliance, presented ceremonial donation cheques to representatives of this year's five beneficiaries: the Young Men's Christian Association of Macau, the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Service Coordination Office, the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home, the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao, and the Bosco Youth Service Network.

Sands China's donations help support various responsible gaming efforts of the NGOs, including parent-child responsible gaming and financial management activities, roadshows, workshops, trainings, sharing sessions, responsible gaming promotional videos and quiz games, responsible gaming community promotion day, and more.

"It is our pleasure to donate to Macao's local organisations again this year to aid them in their responsible gaming work in the community, and we hope the financial support contributes to the sustainable development of the industry," said Kobel. "We extend our gratitude to the local organisations and to members of our responsible gaming team who work with them throughout the year, as we look ahead to another successful year of cooperation."

Sands China has been at the forefront of responsible gaming initiatives in Macao, being the first integrated resort operator to launch a self-exclusion program in 2004. The company has also included responsible gaming training in its company-wide team member orientation program since its inception.

Established in 2007, Sands China's comprehensive responsible gaming program aims to contribute to the continuous development of the Macao community. The company is dedicated to addressing social issues, bearing corporate responsibility, and fostering a culture of responsible gaming in Macao.
