Sands China Organises Team Members to Visit National Security Education Exhibition
Part of Sands China’s professionalism education series
(Macao, Apr 15, 2025) – Coinciding with the 10th National Security Education Day on April 15 this year, Sands China led a group of nearly 50 management team members, including company executives, to visit the 2025 National Security Education Exhibition at the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex on Tuesday. The visit aimed to further enhance the awareness of national security among team members and the younger generation, strengthen their understanding of the country’s overall situation, and pass on the spirit of “loving the motherland and loving Macao.”
The group was led by Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd., Grant Chum, the company’s chief executive officer and executive director, and Dave Sun, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Sands China Ltd. and managing director of Venetian Macau Limited.
This is the seventh time Sands China has organised a team member visit to the exhibition since it was first held in 2018, as part of Sands China’s professionalism education series. This year’s special exhibition is themed “Ten Years of Deepening and Implementing National Security Education for All.” It reviews the milestones of the country and the Macao SAR government over the years in promoting national security education for all; the exhibition is co-organised by the Macao government and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR.
Dr. Wong said: “National security is one of the most important cornerstones of national development. I am very pleased to review the historic achievements of national security work with our team members on the 10th National Security Education Day. A comprehensive understanding of national security is a ‘must-have’ for companies and employees to develop steadily in an ever-changing environment. For this reason, Sands China has organised visits to this exhibition for seven consecutive years. We hope to deepen the company’s awareness of national security, help promote Macao’s integration into overall national development, and seize development opportunities to contribute to the country’s long-term prosperity and stability.”
A docent guided the tour of the exhibition, which is divided into a prologue and six thematic sections. It focuses on showcasing the country’s latest development achievements in the past year, as well as the historic achievements made in national security work in the new era – especially national security publicity and education over the past decade under the guidance of the overall national security concept. The exhibition also demonstrates that the Macao SAR government and all sectors of society have carefully studied and understood the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speech during his inspection tour of Macao last year, and written a new chapter in the successful practice of “One Country, Two Systems” with Macao characteristics.
The visit to the exhibition is part of Sands China’s ongoing effort to promote professionalism education, and to comprehensively strengthen team members’ knowledge of the business environment and national development – empowering them to make essential contributions to the development of Macao into a world centre of tourism and leisure. Sands China has been committed to improving the professionalism of its team members company-wide, through various initiatives that have included professional literacy training courses, Greater Bay Area visits, professional lectures, a distinguished speaker forum series, various professional exchange activities, and film screenings. More than 80 professionalism activities have been held to date, totalling over 10,000 participants.
