Distinguished as ‘Industry Mover’ among China enterprises
(Macao, Jul 16, 2025) – Sands China Ltd. has once again earned Top 1% rankings in both the Global edition and China edition of the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025, a testament to the company’s outstanding ESG (environmental, social and governance) achievements. For the yearbook’s China edition, Sands China earned the ‘Industry Mover’ distinction, which is only awarded to one company in each industry.
China Top 1% sustainability score and ‘Industry Mover’ distinction The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook is regarded as one of the most prestigious publications for analysing sustainability efforts in the business world. For this year’s China edition, S&P Global assessed more than 1,600 companies across 60 industries from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao. The assessments were based on each company’s score in S&P’s annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). Sands China is one of only 18 companies to rank in the Top 1% of CSA scores in the China edition, marking its third consecutive year in the Top 1%. The company was also named the Industry Mover for its industry category for the first time.
In order to be an Industry Mover, a company needs to achieve at least a 5 percent increase in its CSA Score from the prior year, while also being the company with the strongest improvement within its industry category. Sands China accomplished both with an over 7 percent increase in its CSA score.
Global Top 1% sustainability score For the global edition of the yearbook, more than 7,690 companies across 60 industries worldwide were assessed. Sands China is among only 65 companies with a Top 1% CSA score in their industry category, marking its second straight year in the global Top 1%.
S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) is an evaluation of the sustainability practices of companies from around the world, with only those performing in the top 15 percent of their industries included in the Global Sustainability Yearbook.
Grant Chum, chief executive officer and executive director of Sands China Ltd., said: “Sands China remains steadfast in our commitment to ESG practices and to giving back to the Macao community that we have called home for more than 20 years.
