Sands China Brings Grammy-winning Act to Macao for Concert and “Meeting the Artist” Event

String trio Time for Three delights audience with genre-blending style

(Macao, Dec 2, 2025) – The Grammy- and Emmy-winning string trio Time for Three took to the stage in Macao for their “Starry Symphony” concert Nov. 30 and engaged the local community in a “Meeting the Artist” event Dec. 1. Jointly presented by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Sands China Ltd., and the Macao Orchestra, the events are the most recent highlight of the Sands China Performing Arts Programme.

String trio Time for Three engrosses audiences worldwide with their masterful rearrangements that bridge genres. They reimagine everything from American bluegrass and folk to contemporary pop, seamlessly blending these styles with classical music and beyond – breaking traditional boundaries to create their own unique style. Comprising violinists Nicolas Kendall and Charles Yang, and double bass player Ranaan Meyer, these virtuosic musicians enthralled the audience with their one-of-a-kind flair, earning enthusiastic applause throughout their performance.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd., said: “Sands China is honoured to have co-organised the Macao Orchestra concert season for three consecutive years, and we were excited to support this distinctive event this year by bringing in Time for Three to deliver exceptional performances in Macao, captivating music enthusiasts with their unique artistic style. In addition to the concert, we were also pleased to organise a ‘Meeting the Artist’ event that helped foster community interaction and cultural exchange. The event provided Macao’s emerging musical talent a valuable opportunity to perform alongside an internationally renowned string trio, broadening their horizons and enriching their artistic and cultural literacy through inspiration. By hosting a wider range of music and art initiatives, we hope to further enhance public appreciation of arts and culture and inject vitality into the city’s cultural and creative industry. We are grateful to the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Macao Orchestra, Time for Three, and all of the community members who participated. Sands China looks forward to presenting more events in our commitment to the development of art and culture, showcasing the charm of Macao as a City of Performing Arts.”

On Nov. 30, Time for Three filled the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium with their award-winning blend of classical repertoire, musical Americana and popular singer-songwriter styles for their ‘Starry Symphony’ concert, title sponsored by Sands China and conducted by the Macao Orchestra’s music director and principal conductor, Lio Kuokman. The audience was delighted and surprised by the performance of the trio, whose members sing while playing their instruments.

In addition, the “Meeting the Artist – Time for Three” event was held at The Londoner Macao® Dec. 1. Over 100 music fans and Sands Cares Ambassadors invited by Sands China and the Macao Orchestra enjoyed performances, listened to a sharing session, and engaged in a Q&A session with the string trio and Lio. Afterward, the musicians delivered a special performance featuring 26 children and youth aged 6-18, helping nurture their musical interest and talent. The students were then joined on stage by the audience to take a group photo with the performers, after which they got a chance to get autographs.

Since 2015, Sands China has supported the Macao International Music Festival to promote the development of local art and culture. Launched in 2023, the Sands China Performing Arts Programme aims to build a diversified platform to advance Macao’s performing arts development, introduce and promote top national and international acts, and leverage the city’s important role as a stage for international cultural exchange. The programme aligns with the Macao SAR government’s vision for the integrated tourism and leisure industry, promoting Macao’s image as a City of Performing Arts and helping transform Macao into a popular cultural and tourism destination.
