Sands Macao Celebrates Its 22nd Anniversary
Continuing its opening tradition of presenting special lunches to taxi drivers
(Macao, May 18, 2026) – Sands® Macao celebrated its 22nd anniversary Monday by continuing a long-standing community tradition established since its opening in 2004 – presenting special lunches to local taxi drivers as part of the property’s anniversary celebration.
Taxi drivers travel through the streets of Macao every day, providing convenient transportation services for residents and tourists alike. In appreciation of their enduring contributions to Macao's tourism industry, Sands Macao, since its inception, has provided local taxi drivers with special lunches every year, sharing the joy of its anniversary celebration with the community.
The lunch distribution was held at midday Monday, where Thomas Pang, senior vice president of international marketing of Sands China Ltd., together with other management team members, greeted the taxi drivers at the hotel’s main entrance and personally presented each of them with a special anniversary lunch, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
The anniversary boxed lunches feature a thoughtfully curated menu, including nourishing soup with morel mushroom, red date, goji berry, conch, chicken and pork rib; tender chicken with ginger sauce; stir-fried shrimp, scallops, and fish maw with XO sauce and beans; seasonal vegetables; longevity buns that symbolize blessings and celebration; and fresh fruit. The specially prepared meals are designed to convey sincere gratitude and appreciation to the taxi drivers.
As Sands Macao enters its 22nd year, Sands China looks forward to continuing to work hand in hand with its team members and the wider community – upholding the spirit of cooperation and shared prosperity to jointly contribute to Macao’s development as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.
