Committed to nurturing Macao talent through a people-oriented approach
Over half of team members serving for at least 10 years
(Macao, June 8, 2026) – Sands China Ltd. has always regarded team members as the cornerstone of company’s advancement. Guided by its commitment to nurturing talent for Macao through a people-oriented approach, the company has been continuously introducing a wide array of targeted talent cultivation and welfare policies to create a work environment marked by promising prospects and a sense of belonging. By holding long-service ceremonies in May, the company honoured more than 4,000 team members who are celebrating their 10-year, 15-year, or 20-year service anniversaries this year, extending recognition for their professional service and dedication throughout the years.
This year, around 1,300 team members are reaching 20 years of service with Sands China; around 1,700 and nearly 1,100 team members are hitting their 15-year and 10-year service milestones, respectively. At the recent anniversary ceremonies, the company presented trophies, certificates, celebratory set meals, and other special gifts to this latest batch of long-serving team members, in appreciation of their contributions and commitment over the years. In 2026, nearly 15,000 team members have served Sands China for 10 years or more, accounting for over 50 percent of the company’s current workforce.
Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd., said: “Sands China has been committed to Macao’s development for over two decades. From an initial workforce of 4,600 team members, we have now developed into a family of over 28,000 staff, with more than half having served for 10 years or more. Looking back at the early stage of Cotai’s development, we have driven the establishment of many landmark projects, and carved out the world-class, diverse integrated tourism and leisure businesses we operate today. All the achievements the company has made are attributed to the unwavering dedication of our team members. The fact that many team members have chosen to grow with us over the long term is also a testament to the confidence our staff have in our corporate culture. On behalf of Sands China, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all long-serving team members for their devotion, and I hope to see everyone strive together towards new heights in the future.”
Grant Chum, chief executive officer and executive director of Sands China Ltd., said: “The wealth of experience, professional expertise and strong team spirit cultivated by our long-serving team members constitutes the vital driving force behind Sands China’s sustained growth and success. The company has been undergoing a remarkable growth, with the annual visitation across our properties surging from over 70 million a decade ago to nearly 100 million in 2025. This achievement is the result of the long-term dedication, professionalism and collaborative spirit of our team members. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all team members for their contributions. Moving forward, Sands China will remain committed to our people-centred philosophy, by continuing to invest in enhancing our work environment and employee welfare policies, while supporting the high-quality development of Macao’s talent. Together, we will continue contributing to Macao’s position as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.”
As Macao’s largest private employer, Sands China has constantly introduced a range of innovative and forward-looking human resources policies and has cultivated industry professionals through all-round efforts that focus on three core pillars: attracting, developing and retaining talent. The percentage of local residents among the company’s management roles has soared from 20 percent in 2004 to around 91 percent at present. Moreover, the company has been awarded the prestigious “Top Employer” certification for two consecutive years by the Top Employer Institute, one of the world’s most authoritative certifiers of human resources strategies, making Sands China the first integrated resort operator in the Asia Pacific region and the first company in Macao’s tourism and service industry to earn this international accolade. This achievement highlights an exceptional and efficient human resources strategy that meets high international standards.
