Sands China Organises Third GBA Visit for Team Members' Professionalism Training

Team members visit Hengqin and Zhuhai Hi-Tech Zone

(Macao, May 19, 2021) – Sands China Ltd. recently led a diverse delegation of team members to Zhuhai, as part of the company's ongoing professionalism training initiatives in the Greater Bay Area.

Sands China organised the Professionalism Education for Sands China Team Members – Visit to Hengqin, Zhuhai in the Greater Bay Area to enhance team members' awareness and understanding of regional cooperation in the Greater Bay Area in promotion of Macao's moderate economic diversification.

Team members in the delegation included senior company executives, Sands Cares Ambassadors, and contestants from the Macao Vocational Skills Competition, among other rank and file team members. The group of50 spent their day visiting the Hengqin New Area Planning Exhibition Hall and a brewery for local brewer Macau Beer Co., Ltd.

Located at the Hengqin Financial Industrial Service Base of Zhuhai's Shizimen Central Business District, the Hengqin New Area Exhibition Hall showcases Hengqin's vision, overall planning, past developments and future possibilities.

Macau Beer has been rooted in the SAR for 25 years. It now has a factory in the Zhuhai High Tech Zone, where it brews beer with meticulous craftsmanship. Through utilising the advantages of the two Greater Bay Area cities of Macao and Zhuhai, the company has become one that continues to contribute to Macao's diversification.

"The Greater Bay Area is a critical element of the national development policy of the PRC," said Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd. "Through professionalism education efforts like this visit, Sands China hopes to encourage our team members to have a deeper understanding of the country, prepare for their own career planning, and better grasp the opportunities in the development of the Greater Bay Area."

This is Sands China's third professionalism training visit to the mainland since 2018, with an aim to enable team members to strengthen their national pride so as to contribute to the prosperity and development of the nation and Macao.

Sands China has been committed to bolstering the professionalism of its team members through various initiatives, including GBA visits, professional literacy training courses, professional lectures, various professional exchange activities, and through film viewing sessions. Nearly 30 professionalism activities have been held to date, with a participation of over 10,000.
