Sands China Holds Hospitality and Protocol Skills Workshop for Team Members
First course of new Sands Hospitality Academy

Mar. 2, 2023) – Sands China Ltd. held a
Skills in International Hospitality and Protocol
Workshop Wednesday at The Venetian®
Macao's Adelson Advanced Education Centre, the first
course of the company's new Sands Hospitality
Academy.
The Sands
Hospitality Academy seeks to equip the company's
hospitality practitioners, such as hotel and restaurant
managers, with practical skills and knowledge to help
them exemplify international industry standards for
exceptional levels of service quality and performance.
More than 60
team members attended Wednesday's workshop, which was
aimed at developing skills for delivering the highest
hospitality standards for overseas guests, as Sands
China bolsters its efforts to attract foreign visitors
to its integrated resorts, in line with Macao's focus on
economic
recovery.
The workshop
was conducted by Daniel Fung, former director of the
Protocol, Public Relations and External Affairs Office
of the Macao S.A.R., who helped empower team members
with enhanced international hospitality and protocol
skills.
Dr. Wilfred
Wong, president of Sands China Ltd., said: "Sands China
was very pleased to have Mr. Fung deliver the first
course of our new Sands Hospitality Academy, as
providing exceptional service to global travellers is an
essential part of building Macao into a world centre of
tourism and leisure. With the new platform of the Sands
Hospitality Academy, we hope to take advantage of our

professionals in hospitality, so that we can contribute
to building a robust pool of professional talent for the

Topics in the
Skills in International Hospitality and Protocol
Workshop included social etiquette for different
occasions and in various countries, expressions of
courtesy among different cultures, and protocol for
receiving VIP
guests.
One of the
workshop participants said: "Thanks to Mr. Fung for his
vivid and interesting explanations, as well as for
sharing his professional knowledge and experience about
hospitality and culture in different countries. This
workshop not only helps us improve our competitiveness,
but it also gives us more skills for preparing for more
overseas
visitors."
As the largest
integrated resort operator in Macao, Sands China aims to
be a role model for integrated resort development and
play a leading role in talent development for the
Greater Bay Area via its Sands China Academy.
With this in mind, the company is inaugurating six new
sub-academies, bringing the total number to eight, in
support of Macao's development into a talent incubator
for the Greater Bay Area. Sands China is offering these
platforms as a way for industry experts to share their
experience and knowledge with Sands China team members
and with industry practitioners in the Greater Bay Area
to foster their growth in various
areas.
