Three More Sands China Departments Receive ISO Certification for Occupational Health and Safety
8 departments now have ISO certification for OHS
(Macao, Jul 18, 2023) – Three of Sands China's departments – table games, slot, and cage – recently earned an ISO 45001:2018 certification for their occupational health and safety (OHS) management systems.
They join five other Sands China departments that have already earned the same certification: food and beverage, procurement and supply chain, housekeeping, security, and facilities.
"We want to express our sincere gratitude to team members from table games, slot, and cage departments for their wholehearted support as we obtain these new ISO certifications," said Andy Kobel, senior vice president of table games and gaming optimization for Sands China Ltd. "Sands China now has more than 17,000 team members working in departments operating under an OHS management system that is ISO-certified – a testament to the success of our proactive efforts to create a safe and healthy work environment. We will continue to implement and abide by these important OHS measures in order to safeguard the health and safety of team members and guests alike."
ISO certifications are awarded by the London-based British Standards Institution (BSI) Group, the world's largest national standards and certification body. BSI audits and provides certification to companies worldwide who implement and comply with its management systems standards. The goal of ISO 45001 is the reduction of occupational injuries and diseases.
In addition to occupational health and safety, Sands China's ISO certifications in other areas are:
- ISO 22000:2018 for its food safety management system
- ISO 9001:2015 for the quality management of its facilities department
- ISO 9001:2015 for the quality management system of its convention and exhibition services
- ISO 27001:2013 for its information security management system
- ISO 20121:2012 for its event sustainability management system
