Sands China Garners 27 HR Awards in Asia Pacific in 2023
Recognised for fostering diversified talent development and enhancing team member experience
(Macao, Mar 12, 2024) – Sands China Ltd. earned a total of 27 human resources awards in the Asia Pacific region in 2023, in recognition of the company's innovative and ever-improving efforts in talent development and retention, team member benefits and work-life balance, and team member experience.

Among the many accolades, the company was honoured by the prestigious Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Awards 2023 as the winner of the Human Capital Development Initiative Category for the company's outstanding talent development programme, the Sands Retail Academy. The award is a testament to Sands China's unwavering commitment to developing the retail sector and nurturing professional talent for Macao's tourism industry. It is Sands China's second consecutive year winning the esteemed PATA Gold Award, which recognises exceptional and innovative tourism initiatives in the Asia Pacific region and beyond.
Meanwhile, Sands China won four awards at the 2023 Employer Branding Creativity Awards and was the only Macao-based company honoured – putting it in the company of other well-respected winners such as Tencent, Mercedes-Benz, PwC, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Bosch China. One of the awards was the '2023 Employer Branding Creativity Awards – Best Employer Brand Social Media,' which recognises the creative use of social media to showcase the company's employer branding value.
In addition to the aforementioned, Sands China earned various human resources awards with its innovative and effective policies and programmes to nurture talent and create a warm and inclusive work environment for its team members.
Fostering all round talent development in line with the '1+4' diversification strategy
In view of the increasing demand for talent with the Macao SAR's '1+4' diversification development strategy, Sand China has been working closely with its partners and the government to attract more talent to join the integrated resort industry.
Additionally, the company has introduced initiatives like Be a Londoner Guide, a programme to heighten the professionalism of team members for The Londoner Macao. Sands China's MyWay programme and the Second Integrated Talent Development Program also offer an abundance of horizontal and vertical career mobility options to team members. With deep roots in Macao for over 20 years, Sands China Ltd. has always placed people first, continually fostering the all-round development of its team members. After opening Sands Macao in 2004, Sands China has since become Macao's largest integrated resort operator, providing Macao residents with more than 85,000 diversified employment opportunities. As of the end of 2023, more than half (over 14,000) of Sands China team members had served the company for more than 10 years, including 6,600 that have served for 15 years, representing 26 percent of the company's total workforce.
