Sands China and Fuhong Society of Macau Touch Hearts by
Assembling 2,600 Gift Packs for Children’s Day

(Macao, June 10, 2025) – In a heart-warming collaboration of compassion and community spirit, a group of 200 dedicated volunteers – Sands China’s Sands Cares Ambassadors and members of Fuhong Society of Macau – assembled 2,600 festive gift packs at Fuhong Society of Macau’s Pou Lei Centre, putting their commitment to community service into practice. All the gift packs were distributed to 66 local child service institutions and residential homes ahead of Children’s Day, spreading warmth to children on the festive day.

As part of Fuhong’s Gift Pack Community Sharing Programme, this collaboration integrated community engagement with inclusive employment, as members with disabilities earn money from Fuhong for assembling the gift packs. The Sands Cares Ambassadors helped them prepare the gift packs, showing the community’s care and kindness while providing an avenue for them to contribute their skills. Fuhong’s gift packs were purchased by Sands China, and contain a drawing kit, snacks, and a phone clip made by Fuhong members.

On the same day, Sands China donated MOP 259,750 to Fuhong Society of Macau in support of the gift pack programme. Catherine Kong, vice president of corporate communications and community affairs for Sands China Ltd., presented the company’s ceremonial cheque to Jennifer Chau, director of Fuhong Society of Macau.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd., said: “At Sands China, corporate social responsibility is a core philosophy and our hearts are intertwined with the very fabric of the city that we have called home for over 20 years. Since 2006, we have cherished our enduring partnership with Fuhong Society of Macau, aimed at serving its members and the wider community. We are dedicated to creating bridges for social inclusion for people with disabilities, providing employment opportunities that in turn empower them to realise their self-worth. Through Fuhong’s Gift Pack Community Sharing Programme, we have proactively distributed gift packs to 98,600 children to spread cheer and warmth throughout the community during festive occasions. The company thanks Fuhong Society of Macau for their unwavering support and extends gratitude to our Sands Cares Ambassadors for volunteering for this initiative. We are honoured to continue to walk this path of service, nurturing care and kindness within the community.”

Chau said: “We extend our gratitude to Sands China for 21 years of steadfast support. This partnership has not only provided invaluable employment opportunities and income for members of Pou Lei Centre, but has also enabled them to give back to the community through their handcrafted gifts. This single act of support represents double the goodwill, embodying the spirit of social inclusion.”

Working with organisations like Fuhong Society of Macau on initiatives such as the Gift Pack Community Sharing Programme is central to Sands China’s commitment toward social causes and community involvement. The company plans to help distribute another round of gift packs during the Christmas season to local community service centres.
